About the role

As a Contractor Management Officer, your role is crucial to maintaining the efficiency and compliance of our operations within the Asset Management Department at our Hobart Smelter. Reporting directly to the Contractor Management Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing contractor processes, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, and supporting the overall success of our operations. Your contributions will play a vital role in the seamless coordination of contractor activities, fostering a safe and efficient working environment in the mining and metals industry.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing contractor data for KPI assessments and maintaining an accurate database.
  • Verifying contractor credentials and securely filing insurance documents.
  • Managing a detailed tracker spreadsheet and generating insightful reports.
  • Regularly reviewing contractor files to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintaining documentation related to KPIs, milestones, and contracts.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and streamlining data management in SAP/DMS.

 

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar Admin role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in database management and document organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities for data analysis and reporting
  • Proactive problem-solving approach
  • Contract management experience would be an advantage
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft 365

Nyrstar Hobart is a large scale zinc smelter located on Hobart's River Derwent, only a few kilometres from the Tasmanian capital's charming and cosmopolitan city centre. The facility uses the RLE process for zinc production. Hobart's key products are SHG zinc, die cast alloys and continuous galvanising grad (CGG) alloys. In addition, the site produces by-products of cadmium, copper sulphate, paragoethite, lead sulphate, leach concentrate and sulphuric acid.

This is a rare opportunity to work on site in the resources industry, in a capital city location.
