Overview of the role
Applications are now open for a Shift Team Leader to join our Nyrstar Refinery department.
As a Team Leader in the Refinery, you are responsible for providing leadership whilst monitoring the safe production of activities within the department, as well as collecting and analysing plant data in order to assess process problems and recommend a course of action.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring adequate standards of housekeeping, hygiene, fume and dust suppression within the work area.
This is a residential role, based in Port Pirie, South Australia on a Continuous shift roster. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate if required.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing direction and support to overcome day-to-day problems that may impact upon safety, environment and production
- Assisting with business improvement activities
- Managing Production Variance processes
- Personnel development, succession planning and operational flexibility
Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:
- Experience as a Team Leader – current or previous
- Demonstrate a high level knowledge of the principles of personnel management, organisational change, process improvement and communication
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership to achieve targets within the workflow process
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management and/or attendance to leadership development course
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and how to apply in a production environment
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite of products particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and SAP
- Understanding of asset management processes
