For our Zinc Smelter located in Clarksville, Tennessee we are currently seeking an Environmental Manager

REPORTS TO: SHEQ Manager

 

DIRECT REPORTS: None

 

FLSA: Salaried - Exempt

 

Overview of the role

 

The Role provides centralized support to the departments in the area of Environment, Health, & Safety.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Ensure compliance with local government and industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement technology to provide solutions to environmental challenges.
  • Collect, analyze and manage environmental data gathered in the field.
  • Perform risk and quality control assessments to determine environmental impact levels.
  • Identify areas of negative human impact on the environment and communities.
  • Create processes and environmental management methodologies aligning with corporate sustainability initiatives and projects.
  • Conduct research into alternative forms of energy as potential solutions to environmental challenges.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and unsustainable corporate practices.
  • Forge relationships with influential environmental stakeholders and present data regarding environment performance and business impacts.
  • Submit required reports on time. i.e., NPDES, DRM, Title V Emissions, Form R, TSCA, Tier II, and etc.
  • Co-Champion Environmental Management System review and improvements.
  • Participate on ISO internal auditor team.
  • Enter environmental KPI data to complete monthly environmental reports.
  • Ensure compliance calendar is updated regularly.
  • Drive all components of the Leak Detection and Repair Program (LDAR)

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management
  • Professional certification such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) is desired
  • Extensive experience in environmental compliance and sustainability
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with environmental impact assessment and mitigation
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for environmental management
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance
  • Experience in conducting environmental audits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and report writing
  • Experience with sustainability and responsibility initiatives
