Overview of the role
Nyrstar is a leading Multi-Metals processing company based in Port Pirie, South Australia, committed to sustainable and responsible operations in the mining and metal production industry.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our Finance team and Principal Business Analyst in driving business improvements, financial modelling, and strategic decision-making. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to Nyrstar’s success by refining our long-term plans, evaluating business cases, and conducting financial assessments for major projects. Your work will directly support our efforts to optimise production, manage energy costs, and enhance sustainability across our operations.
This is a full-time role based in Adelaide, South Australia, on a Mon-Fri roster
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to optimise operational and financial performance.
- Support financial modelling scenarios to drive informed decision-making and assess business outcomes.
- Identify and prioritise strategic initiatives and investments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute debottlenecking opportunities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide analysis, due diligence, and strategic advice for business development initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities within the region.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, reports, and updates for senior management and board members.
- Provide energy-related insights to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor energy market trends and assess their potential impact on operations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:
- We’re seeking a highly motivated and analytical professional with a passion for driving business improvements and delivering results. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in business analysis, financial modelling, and strategic planning.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- A background in energy analysis or experience in managing energy costs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to create compelling reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
