EU Commercial Optimization Manager

For our Corporate Office based in Budel-Dorplein, we are recruiting an EU Commerical Optimization Manager – Acid & By-products who will report to the Global Head of Commercial.

JOB SUMMARY
The EU Commercial Optimization Manager – Acid & By-products will be responsible for the Acid, By-products & Leach Business Optimisation & Sales revenue for Nyrstar.

The role also manages the commercial account management for direct trucked Acid accounts and acts as a backup function for EU By-products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Liaise with senior production stakeholders across all European sites on a regular basis to ensure the following:

• Composition of byproducts matches the best commercial options (i.e. specification, impurities, blending, reprocessing vs sales).
• Working the with plant and the Inventory Planner to ensure acid strength, acid segregation, acid impurities are controlled closely.

Internal Reporting:

• Regular internal reporting - i.e. ensuring forecast files are collated and updated (globally), budgeting process EU.
• Together with Global Commercial Head, present regular market summaries and updates to senior management (EU).

Commercial:

• Work with commercial team to increase market share of acid sales from the four European sites to acid accounts in Europe.
• Detailed market mapping and market share analysis.
• Back up function for European By Product sales team.
• Build & present business case justifications for capex project directly related to commercial outcomes.
• Become an integral part of the commercial sales function and drive profitability.

KEY STAKEHOLDERS & RELATIONSHIPS

• Senior and operational site management.
• Various internal departments throughout the Nyrstar and Trafigura group globally.

QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Business Administration or similar.
• Certifications in Project Management.
• 10+ years working experience in a similar role,  in Heavy Industry preferably Mining, Chemicals or Oil & Gas.  
• Background in commodities trading is a plus.
• Operate both independently and as part of a global team.
• Self-motivated to identify areas of improvement  
• Structured and intuitive problem solver who can influence at various levels of the organization. 
• Excellent financial acumen (understanding of impact of financials). 
• Extensive work experience in manufacturing and operations management. 
• Strong Communication Skills, proficient in English, additional languages are a plus.
