For our corporate office, based in Budel-Dorplein, we are seeking a Group Manager IT/OT Infrastructure within the Group IT Infrastructure divison, reporting to the Global Head of IT/OT.

 

JOB SUMMARY 
As the Group Manager IT/OT Infrastructure at Nyrstar, your role is to lead the strategic integration of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) within the company's global operations. You are tasked with managing a high-performance IT infrastructure and governing the OT architecture across various sites. This involves overseeing an IT team and coordinating with OT team leaders and specialists. Your goal is to ensure a unified IT/OT framework that supports business functions and aligns with Nyrstar's strategic goals. You will set the direction for OT, establish best practices, and work with site management to integrate OT strategies with day-to-day operations, promoting continuous improvement. Your leadership will establish standards for IT and OT, focusing on security, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness, while driving a future-oriented strategy to enhance operational efficiency and innovation. The role involves advising global site management and aligning IT/OT initiatives with business objectives, ensuring the company's infrastructure supports growth and maintains a competitive edge in the evolving tech landscape.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
Plan:

  • Lead the integration of IT and OT, aligning department heads with the company vision and fostering a unified technology approach.
  • Engage stakeholders to adopt the IT/OT strategy, negotiating with vendors for quality products and services.
  • Develop IT/OT roadmaps for each business function, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and adherence to company policies.
  • Manage project pipelines and lead technical teams to deliver cost-effective IT solutions.
  • Oversee capital applications, manage IT-related financial processes, and optimize team capacity for a robust IT infrastructure.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards in IT/OT and champion collaboration with key departments to maintain a current and secure OT environment.
  • Ensure OT integration within IT projects aligns with strategic objectives and company growth.

Build:

  • Align build activities with company goals, budget, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead a team to deliver multiple technical projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality completion.
  • Set and enforce IT/OT standards and governance to ensure system integrity, security, and policy compliance.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of projects to operational status with proper support and preparedness.
  • Provide expert (SME) IT/OT integration guidance to align technology with business functions and strategy.
  • Develop IT/OT architectural frameworks for seamless, consistent operation and system interoperability.

Run:

  • Manage SLAs for global IT, ensuring service provider adherence to performance standards.
  • Approve global system changes, assessing risks and financial impacts to maintain stability.
  • Resolve overdue IT incidents and service requests to maintain seamless system operations.
  • Enforce security protocols and incident response to protect IT/OT infrastructure.
  • Update disaster recovery plans with OT-specific considerations for technology crises.
  • Oversee OT equipment/software lifecycle, ensuring updates, security, and compliance.

People Management:

  • Foster professional growth among technical teams to meet strategic organizational needs.
  • Set and support challenging performance goals to motivate and improve team excellence.
  • Implement transparent KPIs to monitor and evaluate team and individual contributions.
  • Manage performance, promote a high-achievement culture, and address underperformance with a focus on development.

 

KEY STAKEHOLDERS & RELATIONSHIPS 
 Internal: 

  • Global head of IT/OT, Relevant Steering Committees, Business Leaders, Business Systems Coordinators 
  • All system users across operating and office sites  
  • Nyrstar Heads of Functions, Global Site Management, Site General Managers, Site Asset/Technology Managers.

External: 

  • External applications providers (Cap Gemini), infrastructure providers (NTT), OT Security Operation Centre provider (Kudelski), OT systems providers (Foxboro, Schneider Electric, Yokogawa).
  • External Auditors

 

 QUALIFICATIONS , WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in IT, Management required.
  • Over 15 years of senior-level experience in program/project management and infrastructure roles.
  • Skilled in leading teams in complex technical and geographical environments.
  • Proficient with SAP, Microsoft technologies, networking, telephony, data centers, and operational technology.
  • Strong knowledge of common OT platforms/systems and a network with OT providers.
  • On-call availability 24/7 for critical issue escalation.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to manage outsourced relationships and contract negotiations.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Effective communicator with personal credibility and integrity.
  • Resilient under pressure with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
  • Optimistic, flexible, reliable, and able to innovate and interact with all operations levels.
