For our Corporate Office, based in Budel-Dorplein, we are seeking a Group Manager Risk & Compliance, reporting to the General Counsel.

 

JOB SUMMARY

As the Group Manager of Risk & Compliance at Nyrstar, you will oversee and continually enhance the company's risk and compliance frameworks. You will be in charge of formulating and updating the company's risk and compliance policies and strategies. Your role involves evaluating the effectiveness of risk management strategies and fostering a risk-aware culture in collaboration with senior leadership. You will partner with the Internal Control team and perform regular compliance audits to pinpoint weaknesses and areas for improvement. Additionally, you will develop and implement comprehensive training programs on compliance and risk assessment. You will be responsible for providing detailed reports to directors and senior managers and promoting root cause analysis across the organization. Your role includes initiating and leading investigations into accidents and incidents and managing the escalation of risks within the company's risk assessment and registry processes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor industry trends and potential changes to regulation and/or policies and their impact on risk and compliance programs, monitoring and/or reporting.
  • Assist in major cross organizational projects and act as risk and compliance expert providing support and trainings to several stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of the organization’s compliance framework.
  • Roll-out compliance policies to the business as required.
  • Development and maintainence of internal policies and guidelines on different compliance subject matters, and ensuring Nyrstar stays compliant with local laws and regulations.
  • Develop and deliver compliance-related training material and training plans, promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.
  • Identifying and reporting of compliance risks, breaches and incidents within area of responsibility, and develop strategies to mitigate them in collaboration with the management team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and ensure that all documentation is audit-ready.
  • Conduct internal investigations into compliance breaches, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of issues. Execute, document and report any ad-hoc investigations reviews required by senior management.
  • Develop and maintain the company's risk management policies, systems and processes. Undertake regular risk assessments and report to the Risk Committee
  • Organise and chair the Compliance Committee, Risk Committee;

QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s / Master's Degree in Legal, Accounting, Finance/Economics field required.
  • 8+ years of previous work experience in compliance, corporate governance or risk management.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance and corporate laws and regulations (globally).
  • Flexibility to adapt to an ever-evolving and dynamic work environment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality & professionalism.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficient in English, other languages would be a plus.
