For our Corporate Office based in Budel-Dorplein, we are seeking a Procurement & Production Applications Architect in the Group IT Business Solutions Department, reporting to the Group Manager of IT Applications.

 

JOB SUMMARY
This role will aid key stakeholders in developing optimized business processes within their functional area by managing all planning, build (design & development) and run (support) activities for Procure to Pay and European Production applications for assigned function/s. You will implement the design, build, test and maintenance of applications or custom-built technology solutions to meet business needs for all current and newly defined global applications for assigned function/s whilst supporting stakeholders with any business process changes required to accommodate changing business circumstances ensuring adequate systems of internal control in maintained.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for delivery of IT approved project initiatives for assigned function/s aligned to overall IT strategy and vision.
  • Responsible to identify and mitigate systems/applications that will run out of support from an obsolescence perspective.
  • Assist with negotiating and maintaining cost-effective and value-for-money license and system maintenance agreements.
  • Decrease number of business unique systems and replace with regional / global systems for assigned function/s where appropriate.
  • Responsible to maintain service level agreements for support of the assigned application and system portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment to overall IT group applications strategy, mandate, standards and governance procedures.
  • Facilitate and develop appropriate IT roadmaps for applicable business functions and applications.
  • Development of IT solutions for the assigned function to meet business requirements.
  • Facilitate and participate in required architecture reviews on all new proposed applications to be added to the system landscape for the functional area of responsibility.
  • Ensure timely and accurate planning of all approved pipeline project initiatives/system landscape changes.
  • Develop capital application for all approved project initiatives within area of responsibility
  • Ensure overall stability and sustainability of assigned application and systems landscape.  
  • Manage and provide support as required, including liaison and co-ordination with the outsourced support service provider/s.
  • Interact with relevant business stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for enhancements and improvement on the assigned application and system portfolio - interact with sites regularly (as opposed to an office-bound role).
  • Recommend and enable solution improvements as required at a process, functional, data and reporting level.
  • Apply specialist knowledge in the functional area of responsibility for troubleshooting.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving abilities to any challenge presented for the functional area of responsibility.
  • Manage outsourced serviced provider against SLA for incidents, service requests and project delivery for the functional area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate and participate in testing activities for incidents, enhancements and projects.
  • Train end-users as required.
  • Project manage initiatives within the functional area of responsibility.
  • Co-ordinate service introduction from IT to business and support vendors for any new or changed solution components.
  • Stay abreast of latest best practice solutions and align company/functions as appropriate for the functional area of responsibility. 
  • Provide SME input into areas/functions as appropriate and where required.

QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Tertiary degree in IT/OT or functional area of responsibility or equivalent significant operational experience required.
  • 10+ years of operational experience in a similar applications management role with relevant exposure to SAP ECC Materials Management (MM) and production systems like Honeywell PHD. The production system focus will primarily require exposure to related data analytics and reporting science, whilst the Procure to Pay focus will require an extensive knowledge base of SAP ECC Materials Management. 
  • Sound understanding and knowledge base of the mining/manufacturing sector or a similar heavy industrial / process environment is desirable.
  • Ability to operate at all levels within the organization (head office and site).
  • Innovative and willingness to accept and drive new improved solutions, including possible changes in the application layer.
  • Team player – works collaboratively with others and ensures team effectiveness.
  • Experience in managing projects within timeline, budget and quality requirements.
