Are you ready to take your leadership career to the next level? At Nyrstar, we’re proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a Day Team Leader in our Pre-Treatment / Fume Cadmium Department.

This role is perfect for motivated, results-driven individuals who are passionate about safety, process improvement, and leading high-performing teams.


About the Role

As a Day Team Leader, you will:

  • Provide leadership to the shift and day teams, driving team performance and fostering a strong culture of safety.
  • Monitor safe production activities, manage production variance processes, and troubleshoot day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Collect and analyse plant data to assess process challenges and recommend effective solutions.
  • Assist with the development of planned maintenance schedules to maintain operational excellence.
  • Champion business improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and dust suppression in the workplace.
  • Oversee personnel development, succession planning, and promote operational flexibility.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of production techniques and best practices in safety and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and their application in a production environment.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving and lateral thinking abilities, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP.
  • Qualifications:
    • Certificate IV in Frontline Management and/or demonstrated leadership experience is highly advantageous.
    • Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent safety knowledge also advantageous.
