Overview of the Role

 

This is an incredible opportunity to join Nyrstar Port Pirie as a Maintenance Planner – Mechanical within our Asset Management department. You will play a key role in supporting the Maintenance Team Leaders by providing planning and scheduling services to ensure a seamless weekly maintenance schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a Maintenance Planner – Mechanical, you will:

 

  • Review maintenance notifications for accuracy and completeness, amending as necessary.
  • Ensure all scheduled work is meticulously planned, including task assessments, time estimates for each discipline, and material identification and ordering.
  • Create maintenance work orders, building individual job plans while managing required internal and external operations.
  • Distribute detailed weekly maintenance schedules to internal work centres.
  • Coordinate contractor resources and ensure all work scope documentation is completed for execution.
  • Manage system scheduling boards and backlog work orders, ensuring accurate forward loading.
  • Schedule at least 80% of the total maintenance team capacity.

 

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

 

  • A relevant Trade Certificate (Electrical Trades preferred).
  • Experience in a Planning and Scheduling environment (preferred).
  • A sound understanding of maintenance strategies, engineering drawings, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • High levels of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Projects for major works scheduling.
  • Strong time-management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and resource planning systems.
