THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will be an integral member of our Asset Management Team, with a primary purpose to manage, lead and deliver the suite of capital projects at Nyrstar Hobart Smelter.
As a Project Engineer you will work closely with the production and maintenance teams and maintain high levels of safety and environmental compliance.

Key Duties and accountabilities:
- Provide technical expertise to team members across a range of engineering projects
- Manage and execute engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Identify, mitigate and manage project risks.
- Weekly reporting/updates, cost control and project tracking.
- Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with key peers and Project Owners across the site.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits specifically checking compliance of established standards and procedures
- Collaborate with consultants, suppliers and vendors to ensure services are provided within plan and specifications
To be successful in this position you need to have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ year experience in project engineering, preferably in the mining/resources industry
- Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills
- Ability to achieve results in a demanding and challenging environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with project management tools and systems.
- Experience in SAP would be highly regarded
