About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical & Instrumentation Drafting Specialist to be the single point of contact for all electrical and instrumentation drawing-related matters at our Port Pirie site. This role is critical to ensuring design accuracy, compliance with standards, and the smooth management of drawing and documentation systems.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining design standards, managing drawings in our DMS system, conducting field verifications, and undertaking Electrical/Instrumentation/P&ID drafting work for projects and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the single point of contact for all Electrical and Instrumentation drafting and drawing matters at Port Pirie.
- Develop, apply, modify, and maintain design standards and procedures.
- Upload, manage, and audit drawings and design documentation in the DMS system (including historical and project drawings).
- Undertake Electrical/Instrumentation/P&ID design or drafting work for projects and plant areas.
- Conduct field verification to review and update redline drawings, creating up-to-date native files.
- Manage drawing registers, drawing numbers, and 3D models.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to deliver high-quality design outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and value-adding in drafting solutions and design.
- Ensure compliance with OH&S statutory requirements and site safety policies.
Key Stakeholders
You will work closely with:
- Project Engineers, Superintendents, Reliability & Plant Engineers, and other internal support functions.
- External Engineering Service Providers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Associate Diploma or Mechanical trade qualification.
- 5+ years relevant experience in the mining, processing & refining industries.
- Proficiency in Microstation V8 and/or AutoCAD 2012 or better.
- Experience with the DMS module in SAP.
- Strong drafting design and documentation management skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and influencing skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive, motivated, and collaborative approach.
