We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer with an interest in structural engineering to join our high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to work on both the mechanical systems and the structural integrity of plant equipment, infrastructure, and shutdown projects in the mining and resources sector.
This is a full-time role based in Port Pirie, South Australia, on a Mon-Fri roster with relocation available
You’ll gain practical experience in:
- Analysing and assessing plant equipment and structural components.
- Designing modifications to optimise existing mechanical and structural systems.
- Assisting in the design and coordination of new equipment installations, including load-bearing supports, platforms, and foundations.
- Supporting shutdown planning — including developing detailed work packs, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Preparing technical specifications for tendering, reviewing supplier proposals, and supporting contract awards.
- Collaborating with experienced engineers on troubleshooting and problem-solving for both mechanical and structural challenges.

We’re looking for a graduate who:
- Holds (or is about to complete) a degree in Mechanical Engineering — with an interest in or exposure to structural engineering principles.
- Has strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with project planning tools (Microsoft Project experience is a plus).
- Has some exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD experience desirable).
- Is eager to learn, adaptable, and ready to work in a dynamic industrial environment.
