About the Role:

 

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of our engineering projects, enhancing our plant's performance, reliability, and safety. Your expertise will be crucial in optimising mechanical systems and providing the technical backbone for our plant operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead mechanical engineering projects from feasibility studies to commissioning.
  • Optimize the efficiency and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Offer technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Uphold compliance with mechanical standards and foster a safety-first culture.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support plant initiatives.
  • Document and report engineering processes, and prepare comprehensive Scopes of Work.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master's preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within heavy industry, particularly in metallurgy.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems such as pumps, conveyors, pressurized systems, and cranes.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD Mechanical and other mechanical design software.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven capability in managing end-to-end mechanical engineering projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making prowess.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship with a history of developing engineering talent.
