Overview of the role
Applications are now open for a Senior Structural Integrity Engineer to join the Engineering team in the Asset Management department.
This is a key role in the management and reduction of site structural integrity risk. This role is responsible for all site civil and structural integrity governance and resultant work identified from formal and informal audits/inspections carried out by the structural engineers and other site personnel. The role will also manage the site structural integrity register and the structural engineering work request system.
This is a residential role, based in Port Pirie, South Australia. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate if required.
The key objectives of this role include:
- Periodic structural audits/inspections in all plants, including audit/inspection planning and execution, scope of work and repair methodologies and quality control
- Develop practical scopes of works and repair methodologies taking into account plant operation and budget constraints.
- Hands on approach to working with execution teams in managing structural integrity to ensure continued safe operations
- Maintaining and managing the site structural integrity register and engineering work request system.
- Project participation and execution as identified.
- Supervision of direct reports and contractors
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Essential:
- Tertiary degree qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 5-10 years demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and projects
- Mining, smelting or petrochemical experience
- Effective communication and technical writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work professionally across all levels of business
- Ability to positively engage, influence and negotiate to achieve results
Desirable:
- Chartered Professional Engineer or actively working towards chartered status
- Leadership qualification or demonstrated experience
- Experience with SAP
