Overview of the role

Applications are now open for a TLAP Project Coordinator to join the Targeted Lead Abatement Program team. The Targeted Lead Abatement Program (TLAP) is a joint initiative of Nyrstar and the South Australian Government, which aims to ensure that children between 0-4 years of age, living in Port Pirie, have blood lead levels as low as possible.

 

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven TLAP Project Coordinator to lead the charge in our commitment to environmental health and safety. This pivotal role centers on the hands-on management and delivery of TLAP exposure reduction and dust mitigation projects, aligning with the strategic objectives set forth in the TLAP Work Plan. The successful candidate will play a critical part in our mission to enhance the lives of Port Pirie's children by reducing lead exposure.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' homes, identifying lead exposure sources with XRF analysis.
  • Oversee the Homes and Houses program, managing contractors, and ensuring work is completed to our high standards.
  • Engage with community members, fostering cooperative relationships to achieve our goals.
  • Manage and maintain the TLAP's XRF device with the utmost safety and precision.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Motor vehicle license.
  • Eligibility for EPA licensing for handheld radiation devices.
  • Exceptional communication skills and be proficient in office management software and SharePoint.
  • Organised with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Results-driven and resourceful with a flexible and friendly approach.
  • Knowledge of the Port Pirie community and lead-exposure reduction strategies (desirable).
  • Experience in environmental sampling (desirable).
