Nyrstar Hobart is a large scale zinc smelter located on Hobart's River Derwent, only a few kilometres from the Tasmanian capital's charming and cosmopolitan city centre. This is a rare opportunity to work on site in the resources industry, in a capital city location.

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Team Leader to join our Asset Management Team. If you are passionate about leadership, thrive in a dynamic heavy industrial environment, and are ready to inspire innovation, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, you will be an integral member of our Asset Management Team, leading a diverse team of electricians and apprentices in effectively maintaining the site's electrical infrastructure.

Key Duties and accountabilities:

• Ensure the successful execution of the maintenance plan
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the applicable standards
• Monitor that all compliance inspections and testing are conducted and documented
• Contribute to weekly planning and shutdown plans
• Lead from the front and provide support to your team when necessary
• Offer technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a Supervisory role or similar in a heavy industrial environment
• Demonstrated high level of safety behaviour
• Current unrestricted Tasmanian Electrical Licence
• Instrumentation (desirable)
• HV Switching Certified (desirable)
• High level of organisational and planning skills, as well as excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build strong customer focus between maintenance and operating departments.

• Strong fault finding and decision making skills

• Experience in SAP would be highly regarded.
